The sailing season is generally from April – September. During this time Hardiesse is on her mooring in Falmouth. This time is used for crew (new and old) to enjoy, train and gain experience in all things boaty!
The crew will bend sails on, rig sheets, pull on halyards, raise flags and so much more that is required to handle a boat of Hardiesse’ size when on the move. If Hardiesse is partaking in some extended cruising, everyone will be allocated a bunk, a cooking rota will be drawn up and cleaning stations will be assigned. When under way everyone will be given the opportunity to take the helm, climb the mast (weather permitting) and traverse the bowsprit.
At the end of the voyage (whether a day sail or a two week cruise), Hardiesse will return to Falmouth, the mooring picked up, the sails stowed and the ship left in the same pristine state that it was found in.
